I just finished a conversation with Dave Fernandez on facebook. For there own reasons there has never been a reunion in the upper midwest. The CLICK vote on the next location and they dont get the idea that spreading it around would make more sense. When I was on the gold crew from 72 to 75 we had as many as 15 men from Michigan alone. It would also make more sense to have it central than one coast one year and the other the next...
If you want to know why your reunions are not sucessful it is the people running them...

You can join the Auxillary part of the VFW but not the actual VFW per say. From what I’ve been told by VFW members SSBN vets can join but not the SSN vets. That’s why I joined the American Legion. All brothers of the phin are welcomed there.

Steve, I do not know the answer to your question. Have you checked with the VFW? They should be able to answer your question quite easily.

Quick question. If someone served on board from 1963 to 1967 are they eligible to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars? Thank you.
